St. Louis AT HOME editor-in-chief, Christy Marshall, presented Jane Ganz and the staff at Directions in Design five prestigious awards at the fourth annual Architect & Designer Awards. Out of twelve categories entered, Ganz and her design teams won five awards placing in categories of Children’s Room, Lower Level, Large Remodel Greater than 1,000 Square Feet, Master Suite, and Powder Room.

“I am consistently amazed and awed by the depth of talent of St. Louis’ own designers and architects,” says Christy Marshall, Editor-in-Chief of St. Louis AT HOME. “This year, we had more than 180 entries–up considerably from any prior year. The judges, all nationally recognized in the field were impressed. So am I. Well deserved congratulations go to each of the finalists for winning against such stiff competition.”

The winners of each category are named in the November/December issue of AT HOME, which was unveiled at the awards reception. The issue hits subscribers’ on October 21 and newsstands on October 28 and includes a 13-page feature on the project including project descriptions and photographs of all the award-winning work. The project photographs and descriptions of the second and third place winners can be viewed at www.stlmag.com/athome.

The judges panel of the 2011 AT HOME Architect and Designer Award competition consisted of the following national design and architecture enthusiasts: Barbara Barry, World-Renowned Designer of Interiors and Furniture, Los Angeles; Sam Grawe, Editor-in-Chief of Dwell; Matthew Huft, AIA, LEED AP, Creative Director of Huft Projects; Jeff Lewis, Designer and Star of Bravo’s Flipping Out; Susan S. Szenasy, Editor-in-Chief of Metropolis.

The competition was open to all local design, architect, and landscape firms. The competition was open to both firms and individuals who have completed work in Missouri, but it is also open to entries of work completed elsewhere. AT HOME’s fourth annual Architect and Designer Awards reception was held on October 18th at Immerse, a new studio for kitchen and bath fixtures. St. Louis AT HOME is the city’s award-winning resource for people who love beautiful design.
