In 1975, DID was born when Jane began providing interior design and procurement services for a St. Louis homebuilder after working as a commercial designer for a well known office furnishings group. Directions In Design has become nationally recognized as a premiere interior architectural/ interior design firm specializing in residential, hospitality, marine, senior living and healthcare interior environments. Project experience encompasses 3,500 plus primary and vacation homes.
Her commercial experience extends to corporate offices, banks, retail, yachts, cruise vessels, restaurants, physician’s offices, imaging centers, hospitals, casinos, country clubs, corporate retreats and senior living facilities (independent/assisted living/skilled nursing). Just recently The Gatesworth at One McKnight was named one of the top ten US luxury senior living communities. Jane and the team at Directions In Design provided all of the interior architecture/interior design for the refurbishment of The Gatesworth and for the new West Wing addition.

Jeanine Bequette, ASID, IIDA

After owning her firm in Columbia, Missouri, Jeanine moved to St. Louis and joined Directions In Design, Inc. in 1986, serving on the management team and heading up the commercial division. Her creativity and management skills have served Directions In Design’s clients well as she and her design team create, re-image, brand, construct and rejuvenate corporate, hospitality and marine projects. Her interior architectural and interior design experience encompasses corporate offices, retail, hotels, casinos, restaurants, fitness facilities, theaters, senior living and residential settings as well as many different types of passenger vessels and workboats. Jeanine is considered one of the most knowledgeable marine interior planners in the US.
Melissa Rozell, ASID

Melissa joined Directions In Design, Inc. in 1986. Since that time, she has provided creative interior planning, interior architectural and interior design services for hundreds of residential and commercial projects. Her talents are utilized for large and small, new construction and renovation projects.
Melissa takes great pride in staying abreast of new product and technical advances. Devoting time to expanding her product resource knowledge, allows her to offer and execute creative solutions for client projects.
John Peckham, AIA

John is an AIA Professional Architect registered since 1971. His strategic planning ability and wealth of knowledge regarding commercial, residential, healthcare and marine projects is much valued by both Directions In Design’s staff members and clients.
John is responsible for the production, quality and completeness of all drawing documents and drawing packages. AutoCAD 2010 and REVIT allows efficient and effective interface with architects, engineers, contractors and other professionals.
Mia Mandel
SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER / PROJECT MANAGER

Mia Mandel has over 20 years as a professional interior designer that includes specializing in marine interiors as well as hospitality projects. Her experience encompasses entertainment, hotels, restaurants and club facilities. She has been a senior designer/project manager for 17+ years at Directions In Design, Inc. She supervises all marine and hospitality projects while providing programming, design development, extensive research and finish selections pertaining to marine produce requirements based on IMO/USCG/SOLAS certifications, interior finish/furnishings product specifications, create cost analysis of marine approved products, client/contractor interface, combustibility weight calculations based on interior finishes/furnishings. Mia has completed over 100 marine projects, including cruise ships, ferries, fast ferries, casino, and dinner cruise projects.
